A Kolkata Story
I grew up watching my grandmother paint alta on her feet before every family puja — slow, precise, and full of quiet pride. That memory is the beginning of Ruposhi.
For more than a decade I have sat with Bengali brides in Ballygunge drawing rooms, heritage courtyards, and river-facing hotels. My work is not only makeup. It is the red of Banarasi, the curve of shankha pola, the first sindoor, and the way a mother looks at her daughter before the pheras.
I specialise in traditional Bengali bridal looks — luminous skin, defined kajal, soft gold on the lids, and alta that feels ceremonial rather than costume. Reception and pre-wedding work follows the same grammar: heritage first, camera second, always true to the woman in the chair.
